Position Overview

We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic Tasting Room Host to be the face of our winery and create memorable experiences for every guest who walks through our doors. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about wine, hospitality, and building genuine connections with visitors.

Position Type: Part-Time: This position is available on a part-time basis. We welcome applicants looking for summer-only work, as summer is our busiest season. Year-round availability is preferred.

Compensation: Starting at $10.00/hr + tips, with commission opportunities available.

Hours & Schedule

Regular tasting room hours:

-Friday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

-Saturday: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM

-Sunday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Additional availability required for private events scheduled outside of regular hours. Event dates and times will be communicated in advance. Flexibility is appreciated as private events are a key part of our business.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

-Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with warmth and enthusiasm

-Guide guests through wine tastings, sharing knowledge of our wines, vineyard, and winemaking process

-Tailor the tasting experience to each group — from first-time visitors to seasoned wine enthusiasts

-Create an inviting, relaxed atmosphere that encourages guests to linger and enjoy

-Answer questions about wine selection, pairings, and our wine club or membership options

Sales & Wine Club

-Recommend and facilitate wine purchases based on guest preferences

-Introduce guests to our wine club and membership benefits

-Process transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system

-Assist with wine pickups and order fulfillment for club members

Private Events

-Assist with setup, hosting, and breakdown of private events

-Coordinate with event guests to ensure a seamless and memorable experience

-Support the team in executing special tastings, dinners, and celebrations

Tasting Room Operations

-Open and/or close the tasting room following established procedures

-Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the tasting room and bar area

-Restock wine, glassware, and retail merchandise as needed

-Adhere to responsible alcohol service guidelines at all times

Required

-Genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience

-Outgoing, personable, and professional demeanor

-Strong verbal communication skills — comfortable speaking to individuals and groups

-Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs (cases of wine)

-Ability to work outdoors during summer months, including setting up and moving chairs and outdoor furniture

-Must be 18 years of age or older

-iPACT alcohol service certification required — training will be provided

-Reliable, punctual, and committed to scheduled shifts including weekends

-Fluency in the English language, Spanish language skills are a welcome bonus

Preferred

-A love of or curiosity about wine — prior wine knowledge is a plus but not required

-Prior experience in retail or customer-facing service

-Experience working private events or catered functions

-Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team
