Job Summary

To supervise the overall purchasing process

Summary of Essential Job Functions

 

 

  • This position is responsible for the supervision of purchasing department personnel.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include  interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining
  • Negotiate terms and prepare contract documents with suppliers;
  • Issue requests for proposals and analyze quotes;
  • Place Purchase Orders and Change Orders as needed;
  • Support commodity team meetings;
  • Obtain competitive quotations to assure financial stability;
  • Present visibility and support weekly shortage meetings;
  • Support of data integrity in visual and procurement audits/metrics
  • Replenish materials, components and assemblies in accordance with MRP/RFP and commodity strategies to support the company while optimizing inventory levels;
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers with RFQ or Bid;
  • Operational works like chemical delivery planning considering safety stock and payment control;
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

  • Computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office; with specific high aptitude in Excel;
  • Critical thinking, multi-tasking and decision making skills;
  • Attention to detail

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, however business needs may require additional hours worked
  • Ability to work in a stationary position for up to 90% of their shift;
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs;
  • Ability to move through the entire plant area for up to 10% of their shift

Education and Experience:

  • Doctorate Degree

OR

  • Master’s Degree & 3 years of directly related work experience

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree & 5 years of directly related work experience

OR

  • Associate’s Degree & 10 years of directly related work experience

OR                                                                                  

  • High School Diploma/GED & 12 years of directly related experience
