GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for coordinating mission driven marketing output and integrating the various platforms used by the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance. They should be knowledgeable regarding the comprehensive activities and overarching role of the organization to be able to work collaboratively with staff in coordinating and communicating the message and brand of the Growth Alliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· The Marketing Specialist coordinates and creates content for print, website and social media marketing and other publications per mission of organization.
· The Marketing Specialist assists the CEO, Board of Directors, Staff Members, Committee Chairs, etc. with communication as it relates to presentations, and other modes of public relations, or important information that needs disseminated.
· Manages the Growth Alliance website and the backend of the software platform utilized.
· Prepare & disseminate press releases/marketing to media outlets as directed by the CEO and staff members.
· Ability to communicate, concisely, accurately, and timely in both written and verbal manners.
· Manages and updates marketing media kit.
· Develops or collaborates in the preparation of professional presentations for use by CEO and staff.
· Manages photo database.
· Utilize analytical tools and techniques to interpret data trends and patterns.
· Uses data provided by CEO/staff to send out surveys and tabulate results.
· Manages annual events.
· Other related work as assigned by the CEO or staff.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
The position requires a college degree or equivalent advanced education/training. A thorough understanding of computers, websites, and various programs such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, In-Design, Canva, etc. The position requires a great deal of inner-organizational communication with staff for coordination purposes and the ability to take pieces of information and create meaningful and intelligent marketing outputs both digital and print. The position requires excellent member relations and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a team and communicate with all partners and stakeholders. Ability to multi-task, be organized, and attention to accuracy and detail is essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere and efficiently meet project deadlines.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The Marketing Specialist shall have a minimum of five years of experience in one or more of the following specialty areas:
· Computer programs related to the role such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) or Canva
· Business acumen
· Experience managing and engaging on social media (digital) platforms
· Website development and maintenance technology powering a website behind the scenes
· Marketing/communication experience
· Special Event Execution
Preferably have experience working with membership association organizations and/or community development entities.
LABOR STANDARDS
This position is an exempt, at-will position.
PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITY
The CEO will conduct performance review conferences at least once annually with the Marketing Specialist.
BENEFIT COMPENSATION PACKAGE
· Salary position: $35,000-$55,000 based on experience.
