Coast Unknown is a music duo based out of Fort Dodge, consisting of Weston Dayton and Evan Pott. The two met in kindergarten at St. Edmond, the catalyst of the friendship was a shared love for the song “Stacy’s Mom” by Fountains of Wayne. Remaining friends through all of school. The pair along with some other friends partook in musical endeavors, namely a terrible cover band in middle school that almost exclusively played Green Day songs. After high school the two began to write their own music, as well as practicing stripped down versions of their favorite songs. Their musical influences are incredibly diverse: American folk music, British invasion of the 60’s, 90’s alternative rock, 00’s radio pop, modern indie rock, and red dirt country.
